👸🏿 Black Hair 💇🏾♀️ Q: So where does a Black girl get her hair done in New Brunswick? A: It's 2023 - a salon, right? Not so fast - curly hair knowledge is not, and has never been a requirement on a NB hair exam, and the schools don't teach it 😱. It's BlackLantic's opinion is that associations continue to make it more and more difficult for those interested in Black hair styles to earn a living by regulating services that schools don't even teach.
Join us this Thursday.
Born and raised in New Brunswick Lucinda Butland has practiced hair in this province for 32 years and is on a mission to make Black hair accessible to all. Sit down with two salon owners, Lucina Butland (@hairyideassalon) and Co-Host Clinton Davis (@lesalondieppe) as they talk Black Hair, Lucinda's journey in New Brunswick, and more!
But sure to follow @blacklantic anywhere you listen to podcasts, on socials, and of course YouTube - and follow @hairyideassalon and @lesalondieppe on Instagram 💖
